Prevent Duty
Kingsley Academy is committed to protecting students from being drawn into extremism and terrorism. We recognise that children can be vulnerable to extremist ideology and radicalisation, and we will do our utmost to safeguard our students from this risk as part of our wider child protection responsibilities.
We adhere to the Home Office’s ‘Prevent Duty Guidance’, and actively support and adhere to guidance from the Department of Education to promote fundamental British Values across our curriculum; we empower students to challenge and report extremist views, and ensure that all faiths, races, and cultures are regarded with respect and tolerance.
Our commitment to safeguarding students against extremism, radicalisation and terrorism includes intervention and collaboration with other agencies such as the Police and the Local Authority, where appropriate and required.
