Academy Day

The Academy day will consist of students arriving at 9:30 till 14:30. This could be via taxi that will collect them from their home, or if they live locally, they may with signed parental consent, make their own way to and from the academy.

Students will receive a bespoke timetable dependent on the vocational area they are going in to and the students identified on non identified needs.

Three Educational Routes:

Active Learn
This pathway is designed for learners who benefit from a more active, practical, and kinesthetic approach to education. Lessons are structured around hands-on activities, real-world problem solving, and experiential learning, helping students to build confidence, independence, and engagement. The pathway supports learners who thrive outside of traditional classroom-based learning and encourages the development of social, communication, and teamwork skills.

Discovery

The Discovery pathway follows the national curriculum and provides a broad and balanced academic programme. Students study core subjects alongside a range of humanities options, allowing them to explore their interests and strengths. Vocational learning is embedded into the weekly timetable, giving students the opportunity to develop practical skills, workplace understanding, and employability while continuing to build strong academic foundations.

Future Pathways

This pathway is designed for students who are preparing for post-16 education, training, or employment. The programme focuses on vocational qualifications alongside essential core subjects including English, Maths, and Science. Learners develop practical, job-ready skills, gain industry-relevant experience, and build confidence, independence, and employability to support successful transitions into further education, apprenticeships, or the workplace.

Students will have a 20 minute break in the morning and half an hours lunch break.  There they can go out in our enclosed playground or hang out in the student lounge,  where they can access refreshments and a chance to play on the games console.

After their break they will continue with their vocational studies and also engage in a group PSHE session.
